a seabee arises
I am very excited to finally present the seabee logo to you! It was an exciting and challenging journey until the new seabee look finally satisfied even the hardest audience – myself. I put so much passion and time into this project that I would love to share some of the creation process with you. After some brainstorming sessions and loads of scribbling I finally got my seabee process documentation which is all in this map below (yes, I did sketch a lot).
Why I love to have the process documented is because it’s sometimes just hilarious to look back at your first sketches which sometimes are the key to success and sometimes are just whatever. The sketch below might be good proof.
But then comes the day where you can just tell that you are almost done (and ready to enjoy a well deserved glass (I mean bottle) of wine).
It looked alright on paper so I could move on to the screen, where every little pixel counts! And I decided that seabees needs also a blue side, there was no way around it, and to be honest no blue was blue enough. Anyway, a seabee and its different looks came also on the shiny screen to life.
So once I had an idea of how my seabee is going to look like, I had to give it the right look and feel. Well, it’s a seabee – as the name tells us, it’s not just a normal bee, this ones travels over the sea and it can dive – not only into the sea but also into the world of imagination. To find out what seabee’s favorite environment is I had to get out one of my favorite tools – a good old brush and a color-pot.
To reach out into the big wide world seabee flies and dives, but there is something seabee also must leave behind for everyone who ever saw her to remember. You might think this sounds like a big challenge? Well, I actually just meant old-school business cards ; )
Okay, seabee is out and about! Trying to help others bring their ideas to life and dive through some imagination. I hope you will follow seabees journey a bit longer : )
I am going to post about ongoing projects on a regular basis, also I will try to cover free individual and inspiring topics from time to time, therefore your wishes and ideas are very welcome! looking forward to hearing from you!
yours,
Seabee.
